The mandate of the PABNS is to prescribe public accounting standards that protect the public interest and are consistent with Canadian public accounting standards. The PABNS coordinates its activities with the Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia (CPANS) to achieve this mandate. The Board currently consists of five members who are appointed by the Governor in Council.
